Abstract

This article is motivated by the increasing difficulty of living religious moderation well in Indonesia. With many events and incidents entitled intolerance, extremism, radicalism; this gave birth to persecution, acts of violence and not a few religious adherents either among themselves or between religious adherents became victims. In a very long accumulation of time, the idea of religious harmony is not new in this country, and until now we have not found religious moderation running constructively. This article aims to fundamentally explore the ideology behind the emergence of extreme religious attitudes and thereby come up with solutions to sow religious moderation in Indonesia. One of the goals to be achieved from this article is to find efforts to sow religious moderation in Indonesia. This research uses a literature-based approach, researchers try to explain various specific things that are the main problems and provide ideas as alternative ideas in sowing religious moderation in Indonesia. The final result of this paper is expected to give awareness to all children of the nation, decision makers specifically in government, religious believers, religious leaders and academics are able to understand the function of sowing religious moderation and play their responsibilities in the development of effective moderation.
